Select Telecom would like to offer a huge congratulations to this quarter’s featured employee, Customer Service Representative Danielle Crawford, whose baby boy, Samuel, was born on August 15th, weighing 6 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring at 19 inches long! Baby Sam is Danielle and her husband’s first child.
“This little man stole my heart,” Danielle beams. “I couldn’t be more blessed. I’m so grateful for every day I get to spend with him and see him grow.” Despite some initial worries about the changes little Sam would bring to her life, Danielle has taken to motherhood like a natural. “Being my first child, I was so scared of what was to come. But after much reassurance from my family, co-workers, and customers telling me I’ll be a great mom, it turns out it’s not so scary after all! I’m loving every minute of it.”
Danielle may have had her doubts at first, but no one at Select Telecom was surprised to see how easily she took to caregiving. After all, Danielle initially met the Durante family while working in the activities department at the nursing home in Putnam County where CEO Mike and COO Paul’s mother, Mary, was living. Impressed with Danielle’s professionalism and dedication, Mike asked Danielle to join Select Telecom as a trainer in February of 2006.
Over the years Danielle’s responsibilities have expanded to include a variety of customer service and account management functions. In addition to training customer end users on the functions of the phones and IT staff on managing their communications systems, Danielle also works with customers to gather database information and assists with Select Telecom’s helpdesk and any service-related issues that come up on a daily basis. She is also instrumental in scheduling and overseeing the installation process.
The position is a great fit for Danielle, who loves to meet new people. “My favorite part of working at Select Telecom is the customer interaction and new friendships I gain along the way,” she explains. “We have so many great customers that I would go above and beyond for, and I’m sure they would do the same for me. After coming back from maternity leave, some of our customers even said they missed me while I was gone. That felt really great to hear.”
